CLOUD SYSTEMS ARCHITECT - SaaS

Continuum was founded on the belief that we can help enable any company to be a space company.  If we can achieve this we can reduce the cost of deploying and managing space assets; so, humanity can benefit from the rich observation data that space will offer back on earth.  We are building a Space-as-a-Service (SpaaS) platform.

CLOUD SYSTEMS ARCHITECT – SaaS

As a Cloud Systems Architect, you will have the opportunity to design, deploy, and scale solutions for complex deployments in cloud environments.  You will participate in architecture reviews of complex IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS solutions and usage by the client. You will provide input on proper deployment of cloud services and applications, and design and deploy data ingestion, storage, and analytic solutions using distributed technologies at scale. Collaboration with different teams and projects leveraging Continuum IP, as well as, supporting Continuum’s Tool Kit (CTK) cloud system will be required.  This includes our client network and all hardware, software, and enterprise applications. With a focus on space mission solutions, design tools, and flight operation systems integration, you will be instrumental in moving all of Continuum’s businesses forward.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • As a Cloud Systems Architect, you will be expected to use your systems design and architecture skills to design and implement new Cloud applications, tools, and infrastructure.  

  • Your responsibilities will include architecting a secure and scalable Cloud framework for CTK from the computational back-end to designing scalable APIs.

  • You will design and oversee the implementation of front-end modules and features for the platform, including collaborative, concurrency, and version control capabilities.

  • The scope of your responsibilities extends to performance optimization and monitoring for the Cloud architecture.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Professional experience architecting Cloud-based solutions using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

  • 5+ years or more experience with software enterprise applications and/or cloud infrastructure architecture and support

  • Full-stack software development experience, including programming in Python or other comparable technical languages

  • Experience with SSO Architecture and Implementation 

  • Familiarity with network firewalls and proxies and how they impact system design 

  • Experience with big data application design and deployments

  • Experience with design and implementation of complex systems involving data storage, movement, and data science

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies 

  • Ability to coordinate with multiple teams across different skills sets 

  • IT Security Fundamentals 

  • Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Humio, or other log aggregation tools 

  • Secure, enterprise implementation of software-as-a-service solutions 

  • Programming in Python, Ruby, Bash or other modern programming languages 

  • Mac or Linux Administration (Catalina, Big Sur, JAMF, Redhat, Ubuntu, CentOS) 

  • System Administration utilizing Ansible, CHEF, or Jenkins.

  • Proficiency in network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, SSL, DNS, and SNMP.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Travel to vendor sites may be required 

  • Travel to launch and test sites may be required
